SEPT. 2012 – May. 2014

How do you balance four classes and a 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. work schedule? Very carefully and armed with a quart of Café Bustelo clutched in your hand. 

I began at The Daily Free Press as a lowly writer, running from tattoo shops to court houses on daily assignments. Armed with a bicycle, a pen, a pad and phone, I traveled around Boston and Allston getting interviews and writing stories. 

From there I was promoted to one of the Campus Associate Editor. Both of us maintained contact with the writers and Campus Editor to make sure all stories were going to get done. I wrote breaking news, edited writers' stories and forewent sleep. Here are some stories I wrote at that time.

EDITORIALS

With a month left in my tenure as an Associate Editor, the Editorial Page Editor quit. I finished out her semester, and the next, editing columns, writing editorials and laying out a full page in the newspaper.

COLUMNS

While editing the editorial section, there were times where I needed to fill space on the rest of the page. On those days I would write a column while sitting in the newsroom. Below are some of my favorites.
